This painting tells the story of a place called Miniji sugar bag country (bush honey) where sugar bag is covered in every tree you see. This area is called Woodawoodum, a famous place for weekend walkabout in the days when I was a young girl. The hill on the bottom of the painting is called Woodawoodum, that is where the trees are. The other big hill on top with a bend in it is part of the ranges and is very rough to go through. I remember gathering the sweetest of sugar bag and taking it home to the family. The sugar bag is different to the sugar I buy at the shop only because it comes from Native Bush bees.
